Oral Surgery

Oral surgery includes a range of surgical procedures used to treat disease, injury and defects within the mouth and jaw. One of the most common procedures performed is the removal of wisdom teeth.
At Hedland Dental Care, our team of highly skilled dentists will make oral surgery as stress-free as possible with their personalised and compassionate approach.

We offer a range of sedation options including oral medication and Intravenous Sedation (IV Sedation). IV sedation is often recommended for procedures such as wisdom tooth removal to reduce anxiety or when multiple or complex extractions are involved.

Your dentist will work cooperatively with you to plan your surgery by discussing your particular situation, including the best options for sedation. You will receive an itemised treatment plan outlining the costs involved and be able to ask any further questions at your one on one appointment with our professional Treatment Co-ordinator.

Traumatic Injuries

Traumatic dental injuries often occur as sport or work-related accidents. Often, injuries occur unexpectedly or at inconvenient times for adults and children alike.

At Hedland Dental Care, we offer after hours and emergency call-out appointments 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our professional team are comprehensively equipped to handle dental trauma and will endeavour to make you comfortable and pain-free as quickly as possible.

We work in conjunction with a range of organisations and can arrange everything required for Work Cover claims from the initial ‘First Medical Report’ to detailed reports for insurance companies at no out of pocket expense to you.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy or Endodontic therapy is a series of treatments to eliminate infection. Teeth that have deep decay, large fillings or trauma are at risk of needing root canal treatment.

Our principal dentist Dr Roger Higgins has extensive experience in treating teeth that require root canal therapy and has an outstanding success rate with even the most complex and difficult cases.

If your dentist determines that the nerve in your tooth is irreversibly diseased and requires root canal therapy, we will provide you with a detailed treatment plan outlining the process involved and the restoration required to protect the tooth.

Our professional Treatment Co-ordinator is also available to meet with you to discuss or clarify any part of this process in person or over the telephone at a time that suits you.

Dentures

Dentures are a prosthetic device constructed to replace missing teeth. They are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissue of the mouth.

Types of dentures include removable partial dentures and complete dentures. There are a variety of materials available for the construction of the appliance and your dentist will determine the type of denture most suitable to your situation.

Hedland Dental Care offers a same-day denture repair and reline service so there is no need to go without your denture for extensive periods of time in our remote location.
